502 Restaurants is a free Louisville dining guide and newsletter operated by Webiske LLC, 12123 Shelbyville Road, Suite 100#169, Louisville, KY 40243. This policy describes what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions any time: contact@502restaurants.com.
When you subscribe we collect your email address and, if you share it, your first name, along with where you signed up (for example, our website or a referral link). If you join through a friend’s referral link, we record which referral code brought you so your friend gets credit. We use this information to send you the newsletter and to run the referral program — nothing else.
If you reserve a founding seat for the Louisville Restaurants Club, we collect your email address and, if you share it, your first name, along with when you reserved. We use this to hold your numbered place in line, email you a confirmation with your seat number, and contact you about the club — including when doors open. A reservation does not subscribe you to the newsletter unless you also check that box. To cancel a reservation and have it deleted, email contact@502restaurants.com.
Our email provider (Resend) tells us whether newsletter emails were delivered, opened, or clicked. We use this to see which content readers enjoy and to stop emailing addresses that never engage. This measurement is standard for email newsletters and is tied to your subscription; unsubscribing ends it.
Conversations with Lou (your questions and Lou’s answers) are logged together with your IP address and basic technical details. We use these logs to improve Lou’s answers, to fix gaps in our coverage, and to prevent abuse of the free service. Conversation logs are kept for up to 12 months, then deleted. Please don’t share personal or sensitive information with Lou — it’s a restaurant guide, and it doesn’t need your details.
To keep voting to one vote per person, we store a salted one-way hash of your IP address — a scrambled fingerprint that cannot be reversed back into your address. We do not store your actual IP address with your vote.
We use Google Analytics, which sets cookies to give us anonymous, aggregate statistics — how many people visit, which pages they read, roughly where visitors come from. We don’t use advertising networks or tracking pixels from ad companies. You can block analytics cookies in your browser or with Google’s opt-out tool.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not share it with anyone except the service providers who make the site run (email delivery, analytics, web hosting), and then only as needed to provide the service — or if the law requires it.
The site and newsletter are not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
If we change what we collect, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. Meaningful changes to how we handle subscriber data will also be noted in the newsletter.
